We had a fabulous time at Sea Turtle Inc., on the island. This group has a turtle "hospital", facilitates the safe release of sea turtles into the wild, and raises awareness and funding for said cause. They were so kind and informative .
They had several different types of native turtles swimming around!
I wasn't able to get any shots of the ginormous ones. There is a guide that walks around to each tank with you and answers all your questions - very patient with the constant questioning of my 4 year old.
Here, they learn about things we can do to help keep the turtles safe. Pollutants, etc.. Layla was very touched and deeply saddened to learn of the hardships they suffer. She, of course, wants to rescue animals when she grows up.
